Mission Statement

We aim to represent the scope of human diversity, foster respect for the differences among us and build on the common ground beneath us. Our goals are to:
  • Encourage and maintain a high level of balanced dialogue,
  • Strive for truth,
  • Promote common courtesy,
  • Learn about each other in order to discover other viewpoints,
  • Investigate political and social issues from all perspectives,
  • Collectively develop new ways of thinking, and
  • Open pathways for community action.

Economics

On August 21st the folks of Cofound grappled with the subject of economics. Carol and Travis Smith made a case for the New Deal philosophies of Franklin Roosevelt as we address the issues of today.

Carol asserts that we have abandoned the sound, altruistic policies of the “American System” and have allowed the banking-military-industrial complex to gain free reign.

Others weighed in with their often contrary views. The reach of the topic was quite sweeping and it seemed as though the thirteen attendees departed with fourteen opinions.
